Who knows their motorcycles?   I noticed this on the street in Gythion.  My first thought knowing how proud the Greeks are of their resistance to the German invasion and occupation is that this is a war trophy.  I have seen this before in towns on Crete, BMW motorcycles proudly displayed in front of shops as a monument to their expulsion of the Nazi occupiers.  But that was decades ago and I don't remember the details of the models used by Germany during World War II.

A Dog's Death.  The logical interpretation of this scene is that this poor fellow was carving on this obelisk at Tanis when he met his demise.   I will post the true solution of how why this dog met his end shortly.

A Dog's Life in Ancient Egypt

Image
It's a dog's life in the ancient world.  While it could be subject to other interpretations, it seems pretty clear that it was neither enslaved Jews, craftsmen, peasants, nor priests who made brick, but rather pooches.  We have multiple examples of their paw-work in fired bricks at Tell Timai.
