Not discussed in the article linked above is the wonderful recreation of Mycenean perfumes from Linear B ingredients lists. A couple of references are made below. I love the spicy scent of the Mycenaean fragrances and the contrast sharply to the Egyptian perfumes form Mendes. The Mendesian fragrances include the namesake perfume called The Mendesian which is, as I sense it, is a much softer, smoother, soothing aroma while the another famous fragrance produced at Mendes/Thmouis is the Metopian, a much more musky scent.
